GLP-1 Medical Weight Loss in Stroudsburg, PA

Weight that will not move is usually a metabolic signal, not a willpower problem. We start with bloodwork, look at what your labs and history actually show, and build a plan around it — GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP medication when it is appropriate, nutrition and movement support either way.

In short

GLP-1 medical weight loss is a provider-led program where a licensed clinician reviews your labs and health history, then prescribes and monitors a GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP medication alongside nutrition and activity coaching. At Best Version of You, care begins with a consultation and a metabolic lab panel, and continues with follow-up visits to titrate your dose, manage side effects and track results.

  • Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer
  • Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2 (MEN 2)
  • Type 1 diabetes
  • History of pancreatitis
  • Currently pregnant or breastfeeding

We review your full medical history at the consultation to confirm this treatment is safe for you.

Safety

Possible side effects

  • Nausea or mild stomach discomfort
  • Vomiting or queasiness after meals
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Bloating or indigestion
  • Redness or irritation at the injection site

Most of these ease as your body adjusts and the dose is raised gradually. Message your provider and we will help you manage them.

"She actually looked at my labs and explained what was going on instead of telling me to eat less. First time a plan has held."

FAQ

Questions patients ask

Do I need labs before starting weight loss medication?+

Yes. A baseline panel including CBC, CMP, thyroid, lipids, HgbA1c and fasting insulin is required so treatment is safe and targeted. Labs are billed separately — you can use your insurance, or pay a discounted self-pay rate. Labs drawn by your primary provider within the last three months can usually be used.

Can I do the whole program by telehealth?+

Yes. Consultations, lab review and follow-ups can all be done virtually for patients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Delaware. Labs are drawn at a location near you.

How much weight will I lose?+

Results vary with starting point, medication, adherence and metabolic health. Your provider will set realistic monthly targets with you at the first visit rather than promise a number.

Which weight loss medications do you offer?+

Two: GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP therapy, and phentermine. Your provider recommends the one that fits your labs, history and tolerance. We do not use Contrave, Calocurb or Bella capsules.

Is medical weight loss covered by insurance?+

We do not bill insurance for visits. Insurance can often be applied to your labs, and some medications are covered depending on your plan. A superbill is available on request.

What happens if I have side effects?+

Message your provider through the portal. Nausea and digestive changes are the most common early effects and are usually managed by adjusting the dose, timing or titration pace.

Who is eligible for the program?+

Generally, a BMI over 30, or a BMI over 27 with a related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes or diabetes. Your provider confirms eligibility after reviewing your labs and history.

How often are visits?+

Your provider follows up within about a week of your first injection to check how you are tolerating it. After that, follow-ups are monthly and can be live or by message through the portal.

How do I get my medication?+

Once your labs are reviewed and your prescription is written, medication is sent to a trusted pharmacy and mailed to your home, with instructions on storage, dosing and injection technique.

Will I be hungry on this program?+

Most patients report noticeably less hunger and steadier energy. If appetite suppression feels too strong or too weak, we adjust the dose at your follow-up.

Do I have to stay on medication forever?+

Not necessarily. Many patients taper once habits, muscle mass and metabolic labs are stable. That decision is made together, based on your results.
