In short

Comprehensive metabolic testing is bloodwork that evaluates hormones, thyroid function, blood sugar and insulin, lipids, inflammation and nutrient status. At Best Version of You, results are reviewed one-on-one with Simone Blount, FNP-BC. Labs are billed separately from your visit — most patients use their insurance, and a discounted self-pay rate is available if you do not have coverage.

What's included

Your options

Full metabolic panel

Blood sugar, insulin, kidney, liver and electrolyte markers that reveal how your metabolism is really running.

Complete thyroid panel

Beyond TSH — free T4, free T3 and antibodies where indicated, because TSH alone misses cases.

Hormone testing

Testosterone, estradiol, progesterone and related markers, matched to your sex and symptoms.

Inflammation and nutrients

Markers such as hs-CRP, vitamin D, B12 and ferritin that quietly drive fatigue and weight resistance.

How it works

Your path, step by step

  1. 01

    Order your panel

Your provider selects the markers that match your symptoms and goals.

  2. 02

    Get your draw

Fasting draw at a lab near you, or in-office. Recent outside labs can often be used.

  3. 03

    One-on-one review

We go through every result together — what is optimal, what is off and what it means.

  4. 04

    Plan and recheck

Treatment is built from the findings, and follow-up labs confirm it is working.

"First provider to show me my actual numbers and explain the ranges. Turned out my thyroid and insulin were the whole story."

FAQ

Questions patients ask

Do I need to fast before metabolic labs?+

Yes, for most panels. Fasting insulin, glucose and lipids require roughly 8 to 12 hours without food. Water and prescribed medications are typically fine.

Can I use labs from my primary care provider?+

Often, yes. Results drawn within the last three months that include the required markers can usually be used instead of repeating the draw.

How fast do I get results?+

Most panels return within a few business days. Your review appointment is scheduled once results are in.

What does the review appointment include?+

A walkthrough of each marker, how it relates to your symptoms, what is optimal versus merely in range, and the treatment plan that follows from the findings.

Are labs included in my visit?+

No. Labs are billed separately by the lab, not by us. Most patients run them through their insurance; if you are uninsured or prefer not to use coverage, a discounted self-pay panel is available. We will discuss cost before anything is ordered.

How often should labs be rechecked?+

Usually within the first three months of starting therapy, then at intervals your provider sets based on your treatment and stability.
